Photo Prints
Preserve Your Memories with Stunning Photo Prints
A photo on your phone gets scrolled past. A photo in your hand gets passed around the kitchen table, then lives on the fridge, a nightstand, or the corner of a mirror: somewhere you'll see it a hundred times without meaning to. A print like that deserves to be made well. So we use true photographic paper — thick, stiff, with real weight to it — in either a classic luster finish or a pearl with a metallic shimmer worked into the surface. More than fifty sizes to choose from, and if the one you need isn't on the list, just ask. It is not what comes out of a drugstore kiosk, and you can tell the difference holding it.
We stock Lawrence Frames in wood and metal, all the way up to 11x14. And then there's Canetti — two panels of crystal-clear acrylic, a few tiny magnets, and nothing else. No hardware. No backing board. Just your photo, floating. Clear if you're classic, color-edge if you're not, up to 8x10. The New York Times named them the best picture frames of 2026. We'll put your print in one before you leave!
Questions About Photo Prints
-
Which finish should I pick?
Luster unless you have a reason not to. It's what most portrait and wedding photographers order, it doesn't throw glare, and it doesn't hold fingerprints the way gloss does. Pearl is the one to pick when your photo has hard highlights in it — a car, water at sundown, snow, neon. It's a strong effect, so a soft low-contrast portrait can look pushed on it. Pearl is available from 5x7 up.
-
What size should I order?
Bigger than you think, usually. A 4x6 looks small on a shelf, and plenty of people who order an 8x10 come back wishing they'd gone 11x14. We print more than fifty standard sizes, so the room is there. The other thing to know is that most phone photos aren't shaped like a standard print — when you upload, you'll choose whether to crop the image to fill the print or fit the whole thing with a little white space at the edges. For a group shot where nobody can spare an ear, choose fit. Need a size that isn't on the list at all? We can cut custom in store; ask us and we'll price it.
-
How fast can I get them?
Check the Production Times tab at the top of this page — it lists the current estimate by size and finish, and those are the numbers to go by. We'll text or email you the moment your order is ready. If you need them faster than that, add rush: we'll get to them as soon as they come in, and for a small order that usually means you can wait for them. Larger orders take longer even on rush, so call ahead and we'll tell you honestly what we can do.
-
Will my phone photo look right printed?
Usually yes — recent phones take files that print beautifully. Two things to know. Screenshots and photos saved from social media or text often don't have the resolution to print well; you'll get a warning at upload if we don't recommend the size you picked. And your phone screen shows colors brighter than the file actually is, which is why color correction is included by default. More on resolution and color correction in our FAQ.
Sizes
More than fifty sizes to choose from. Printing from rolls and finishing in house means we aren't locked to the handful a sheet-fed shop or a mail-order lab can offer. If you need something outside the list entirely, we can cut custom sizes in store — it's not available online and there's a charge for it, but come talk to us and we'll sort it out.

What Your Print Is Made Of
Not "photo quality" paper — the real thing, the same class of stock photo labs have used for decades.
Luster Surface
A fine semi-gloss finish with a slight tooth to it — you can feel it with a thumbnail. That texture scatters reflected light rather than bouncing it straight back, so a print under a ceiling light stays readable instead of turning into a mirror. It still holds enough sheen for deep blacks and full saturation, and it doesn't take fingerprints the way a true gloss does, which matters for prints that get handled.
Pearl Surface
The same photographic base with a pearlescent layer worked into the coating. Microscopic crystals catch light and return it with a faint shift in tone, which is what gives highlights their depth and makes the surface look lit from within. High gloss, and noticeably brighter in the whites. Available from 5x7 up.
The Base Underneath
Both surfaces sit on a resin-coated core: paper sealed between thin plastic layers on each face, the way darkroom photographic paper has always been built. That construction is what holds a print flat through a Michigan winter and a humid August. The image layer on top is microporous, so ink is drawn down into the coating on contact rather than drying on the surface — prints leave the machine dry and handleable, and fine detail stays fine instead of bleeding sideways.
Printed Here, Not Shipped In
We've been printing photographs in metro Detroit since 1924. Your prints are made in Bloomfield Hills or West Bloomfield by people who do this every day, checked by hand before they go out, and never sent to a third-party lab. If something isn't right, the people who can fix it are a phone call away.
