It's Time To Transfer Those Reels
Most reels never leave our hands. We transfer 8mm and Super 8 ourselves at West Bloomfield — drop off at either store and we'll get it there — and your original film comes back to you when we're done.
Film with a soundtrack, 16mm, or anything that needs the full treatment goes to a specialist partner we've worked with for years. They handle sound, 4K scanning, wet gate cleaning, and color correction, which needs equipment no local lab keeps in the building. Either way, you're dealing with us the whole time, and your reels come home.
All of our movie film transfers are cleaned first and then hand processed on an LED scanner for the best possible results. Your finished film comes back as MP4 — the one format that plays on everything, from a phone to a smart TV to whatever editing software you might open in ten years. And we charge only for usable content, so you'll never pay for leaders or the blank space between splices.
The best way to share your renewed video and movie footage is by getting family members their very own copy. It’s no fun to pass the same DVD or USB drive around to family across the world, and the digital movie files are too large for online sharing. As you’re embarking on your project, think of grandparents, parents, siblings, cousins, children and grandchildren who may appreciate a copy today (or when they’re grown up).
