Timeless Wall Art, Wrapped and Ready
Canvas has a softness that glass and paper can't match. Your image is printed with pigment inks on artist-grade matte canvas and hand-stretched over solid wood bars, 1.5" deep, right here in our shop — not ordered in from somewhere else. The picture continues around the sides, so there's no border, no glare, and nothing between the viewer and the photo. Sizes run from 11x14 to 40x60, it arrives wired and ready to hang, and you choose how the edges wrap.

Which wrap should I choose?
It comes down to whether you can spare an inch and a half off each edge. If there's breathing room around your subject, gallery wrap is the classic look and what most people pick. If the composition is tight — a group shot where someone's shoulder is right at the edge — choose mirror or color wrap, both of which keep your entire photo on the front. The Edges tab shows all three with photos of the corners.

Why can't canvas be shipped?
Because a stretched canvas is the easiest thing we make to damage in transit. The surface is taut over a wooden frame with nothing in front of it, so a corner knock in a delivery truck goes straight through. We'd rather hand it to you in good shape than ship it and hope. Pick up at whichever store is closer — we'll route it there for you.

Should I order a test print?
Your first one is free, so there's no reason not to. Canvas has a texture that changes how an image reads — softer, less contrast at the very fine detail level — and it's worth seeing before we commit a 30x40 to it. How do I hang it, and how do I look after it?
It arrives wired and ready — one hook in the wall and you're done. No frame, no mat, nothing else to buy. For care, dust it occasionally with a dry soft cloth or a soft brush; don't use water or cleaning products on the surface. Keep it off a wall that takes direct afternoon sun and it'll look right for a very long time.

How long will a canvas last?
Longer than most, and for reasons you can check. The canvas is acid-free and contains no optical brighteners, so it won't yellow or shift as those additives break down. The frame is kiln-dried basswood, which stays dimensionally stable rather than warping and slackening the canvas over time. We print with pigment ink rather than dye. The Materials tab has the specifics. As with anything on a wall, keep it out of direct sun and it'll outlast the room it's in.

Canvas, metal, or acrylic?
Canvas is the warm one — matte, textured, no glare at all, and it suits traditional rooms and portraits where a shiny surface would feel wrong. Metal is the opposite: luminous, saturated, and it survives kitchens and bathrooms. Acrylic has real physical depth and a glassy face, and reads as more of an object. Canvas is the only one of the three you can't ship, so factor that in if it's a gift going out of state.
Choose How Your Edges Wrap
Every canvas is stretched 1.5" deep. What happens on those sides is up to you — and it changes how much of your photo stays on the front.
Classic
Gallery Wrap
Your photo itself continues around the sides of the frame. About 1.5" is pulled off each edge to cover the depth, so the front is a slight crop of the original. This is the classic gallery look and the right pick when there's some breathing room around your subject.
Keeps the full image
Mirror Wrap
The outer 1.5" of your image is flipped and folded around the frame, so the sides are a reflection of the edges rather than a continuation. Nothing gets cropped — the entire photo stays on the front. Choose this when the composition is tight and you can't spare an inch.

Color Wrap
The sides are a solid color you pick, and the front keeps your full photo edge to edge. A clean, deliberate choice for images that don't wrap gracefully — group shots, tight portraits, or artwork with a defined border.
Because a canvas wrap is a bigger investment than a standard print, we can run a test first so you can confirm you're happy before we produce the final piece. Tests are especially useful for checking overall color, how your image looks on canvas, sharpness at the finished size, or color-matching to a print you already own.

You're welcome to come in and review the test before we produce the final wrap.
For Artists and Photographers
If you're reproducing your own work, we'll work with you on test prints until the color is right — matching to an original painting, a drawing, or whatever you're reproducing, adjusting and reprinting until it's where you want it. Printers can't hit every pigment a painter can, so this is a conversation rather than a single pass, and it's worth having before you commit to a large canvas.
One difference from our paper products: we don't offer as-is printing on canvas. Every wrap is coated, stretched, and finished by hand, so each one gets our eyes on it regardless. If you're producing an edition and want the as-is workflow, Fine Art Prints is the route — we'll dial in your color there and hand back the corrected file.
What a Canvas Wrap Is Made Of
Two materials, both chosen for the same reason: they hold up. A canvas is under constant tension for as long as it hangs, so what's underneath matters more than it does with a print you can reframe.
Sunset by Fredrix Matte Canvas
A poly-cotton canvas developed jointly by LexJet and Fredrix, acid-free and pH neutral. It contains no optical brighteners — those are the additives most canvases use to look whiter on the shelf, and they break down over years, shifting the whites as they go. Skipping them means what you see now is what you'll see later. It also has one of the highest white points of any OBA-free canvas, so you don't pay for that stability with dull color. We print it with pigment inks on the same Canon PRO-4000 we use for fine art.
North American Basswood Bars
GOframe 1500 Pro stretcher bars — 1.5" deep and 7/8" wide, in solid North American basswood. Basswood is what museum-grade stretcher bars are made from, because it's dimensionally stable and low in resin and lignin, the compounds that cause wood to move and stain over time. The bars are kiln-dried to under 8% moisture before they reach us, which is why a wrap that's true when you hang it stays true through a Michigan winter and a humid August.

Every wrap is built in our own shop. The canvas is printed, coated, and pulled over the frame by one of our team, corner by corner — not ordered pre-made from a national fulfillment house and shipped to you in a box. It's the step where a canvas is made or ruined, and it's the reason we don't ship them: we'd rather hand you something we watched get built.
Estimated turnaround from time of order placed, counted only during business hours (Mon–Fri, 10 AM–6 PM). Production time for orders placed after closing, on weekends, or on holidays begin when we next reopen. Service time is selected at checkout.
